Accounts Payable Assistant
The Obesity Society is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Assistant to join their team in the USA. This is a permanent, onsite position.
About the Role
The Accounts Payable Assistant will perform essential accounting and clerical tasks related to accounts payable. This role involves managing invoices, maintaining ledgers, generating financial reports, and assisting with other financial matters under the guidance of the Director of Finance & Operations. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles and strong administrative support skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Administrative Duties:
- Provide office support, including filing, data retention, mail handling, and other related tasks.
- Conduct company business in accordance with established policies.
- Maintain company accounting files as required.
- Accounts Payable Duties:
- Process invoices, including stamping, coding, and entering them into accounting software.
- Print, mail, and file checks for multiple properties.
- Resolve issues with vendors regarding past due balances, misapplied payments, and other concerns.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of accounting fundamentals or at least 1 year of accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Experience with data entry and/or 10-key operation.
- Familiarity with Yardi or other accounting software.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow through on tasks.
- Professional written and oral communication skills.
- Prompt and consistent attendance.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
