As a Director, you will possess a sharp ability to identify market gaps, challenges, and solutions. You will also reinforce Gartner's value by engaging with clients through virtual and in-person meetings, sales support, conferences, and industry events.

What You Will Do
- Deliver Client Impact: Spend approximately 40% of your week on virtual client calls, providing guidance on critical ERP-related questions, such as managing custom ERP extensions or developing single- vs. multi-vendor ERP strategies.
- Conduct Research & Analysis: Dedicate around 15% of your week to researching, analyzing, and predicting market trends and shifts within the ERP technology landscape. Assist clients in vendor selection and help vendors with overall positioning.
- Apply Critical Thinking: Deconstruct and reframe challenging client questions, identify root causes of barriers, and drive strategic thinking to help clients move forward.
- Create High-Quality Research: Allocate approximately 30% of your week to creating clear, actionable, and impactful research papers, presentations, and videos based on established research best practices and methodologies.
- Engage and Present: Deliver insights through virtual and face-to-face client interactions, and present at Gartner events, industry conferences, and client briefings.
- Collaborate Effectively: Actively participate in research communities, contribute to the development and refinement of ideas, provide peer review for research content, and help build consensus research positions within your team.
- Support Internal Stakeholders: Proactively assist internal teams (e.g., Research Engagement Services, Sales, Service) to retain clients and support their critical business priorities.
- Develop Thought Leadership: Generate new research ideas and offer compelling, actionable approaches to client needs that accelerate their ability to act. Establish research positions across a team of analysts.
- Build Credibility: Serve as a domain or industry expert, representing Gartner's research, methodology, and strategy.
- Mentor and Coach: Act as a mentor and coach to team members.
What You Will Need
- 12+ years of experience within an IT organization or as an employee of an ERP vendor, including experience in strategy development, business systems integration, vendor evaluation and selection, and ERP operations, upgrades, and evolution.
- Experience implementing cloud applications from vendors such as Oracle, SAP, Workday, or Microsoft.
- Basic knowledge of ERP instance and consolidation strategy.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; a graduate degree is preferred.
- Executive presence with the ability to immediately establish credibility with technology executives.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Aptitude for learning and a willingness to take a position.
- Ability to work independently while being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams in a multicultural, global, and matrixed environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines while producing high-quality deliverables.
- Superior analytical skills, with the ability to apply conceptual models, recognize patterns, and defend conclusions.
- Excellence in research and writing.
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, and the ability to effectively apply patterns and frameworks to client challenges.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Subject matter expertise comfortable presenting at various speaking engagement scales.

- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).
