About the Role
As a Senior Director, you will be a credible thought leader within the AI market, influencing research agendas and providing pragmatic, provocative insights to Gartner clients. You will act as a trusted advisor, engaging with clients through various channels to offer high-impact recommendations for their complex challenges. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of AI by guiding organizations in their AI journeys.
Key Responsibilities
- Create innovative and insightful content for CIOs and AI Leaders on AI solution categories, including Market Evolution, Infrastructure & Compute, Models and Providers, Development Platforms, AI Data Infrastructure, Application Frameworks, Agentic Automation, GRC, Security, Operations & Monitoring, and Contracting & Funding.
- Develop new research ideas and provide actionable approaches to address client needs.
- Analyze client challenges to identify root causes and reframe thinking.
- Demonstrate thought leadership, particularly concerning the impact of ecosystems, geopolitics, technologies, vendors, and regulations on specific industries like Consumer Goods or Insurance.
- Research and predict AI market vendors and trends, producing key research deliverables such as Magic Quadrants, Critical Capabilities, and Strategic Roadmaps.
- Assist organizations with their digitalization and AI journeys, offering guidance on readiness, strategy, prioritization, business cases, architecture, design, and vendor selection.
- Provide independent insights that influence research agendas and help clients make informed, unbiased decisions.
- Collaborate with team managers and research leads to align stakeholders and drive high-impact outcomes.
- Adapt to evolving client demands and the blurring boundaries between industries and technologies by pivoting into adjacent research areas.
- Deliver high-value presentations for Gartner events and client briefings.
- Support research and sales efforts by representing the voice of the market and driving client engagement.
- Peer-review research content to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Build credibility as an expert representing Gartner's research and methodology.
- Participate in innovation and research discussions with peers and mentor junior team members.
- Maintain a client-centric approach, ensuring regular engagement with Gartner insights and interactions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience.
- Experience in selecting, implementing, and maintaining multi-vendor AI solutions.
- Ability to break down business problems and use cases into distinct functional capabilities that map to AI solution categories.
- Thorough understanding of the AI stack (Applications, Middleware Frameworks & Agents, Platforms, Infrastructure, and Data).
- Demonstrated executive presence and the ability to establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high-quality deliverables.
- Excellent research, writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication proficiency, with the ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data, applying patterns and frameworks, and drawing defensible conclusions.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts concisely.
- Subject matter expertise in AI, comfortable presenting at various speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive AI landscape.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural global team environment.
- Learning agility and adeptness in navigating highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to effectively represent Gartner's research methodology and strategies.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).
- Consumer Goods or Insurance experience is preferred.

- Compensation: A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $172,000 - $202,500 USD. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as education, experience, and location.
- Incentives: Participation in either an annual bonus plan or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
