Company: CodePath Location: Remote (LATAM, Canada, Europe, USA) Role Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: $140,000 - $178,000 USD per year (adjusted based on location)
About CodePath
CodePath is an AI-native organization dedicated to creating pathways into tech for the next generation of engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted technical courses and programs to learners nationwide. Operating with the pace and ownership culture of a technical startup, we leverage AI as a core part of our work. With over 40,000 learners and alumni now working at leading companies like Amazon, Google, and Meta, we are actively reshaping leadership in tech.
About the Role
CodePath's educational programs are powered by our internal learning platform, which includes applications for admissions, course delivery, grading, career coaching, and reporting. A dedicated engineering team builds and maintains this platform. As we expand our reach and learner base, we are seeking an Engineering Project and QA Manager to ensure our work is organized, thoroughly tested, and progressing efficiently.
This role involves working closely with our engineers on a day-to-day basis. You will be responsible for keeping projects on track, overseeing the testing process, managing bug resolution, and facilitating clear communication between engineers, the product team, and internal stakeholders who utilize our tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize and drive engineering projects forward, tracking progress, identifying blockers, and clarifying next steps for the team.
- Own the quality assurance process, including testing new features, utilizing AI for automation of repetitive tasks, and writing targeted tests (e.g., Capybara) where beneficial.
- Manage the bug tracking pipeline: reproduce reported issues, prioritize them, assign them to the appropriate engineer, and verify fixes.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between the engineering team, the product team, and internal user teams.
- Collaborate with the team to identify opportunities for process improvements, carefully considering the associated costs and potential friction.
- Provide regular status updates to the team and leadership.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in a project management, delivery, or Quality Assurance role, preferably within a small engineering team.
- Sufficient technical aptitude to collaborate effectively with engineers, including reproducing bugs, interpreting stack traces, and creating test cases.
- Hands-on experience with QA, encompassing ownership of testing processes and bug pipelines, whether manual or automated.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to automate previously manual tasks.
- Strong judgment regarding process implementation, understanding when structure is beneficial and when it may be detrimental.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate effectively with others.
- Comfort working in ambiguous environments and within small-team dynamics, with a proven ability to maintain momentum without heavy formal processes.
- A passion for education and a desire to make a significant positive impact.
Nice to Haves
- Familiarity with Ruby on Rails or Django codebases.
- Experience with testing tools such as Capybara or RSpec.
- Experience working with product managers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Previous experience as the first project manager or QA hire on an engineering team.
What We Offer
- Compensation: A competitive annual salary ranging from $140,000 to $178,000 USD for US-based applicants, with adjustments for candidates in Canada, LATAM, and Europe. Salary is determined by relevant experience and skills.
- Work Model: This is a 100% remote position.
- Health & Wellness: Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance (90% employer-covered for employees and dependents), employer-funded healthcare reimbursement, FSAs, and an Employee Assistance Program.

- Work-Life Balance: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO), paid holidays, 10 weeks of fully paid parental leave, and a company-wide closure from December 24th to January 2nd.
- Professional Growth: An annual professional development stipend of $1,000 and support for home office setup.
