About the Role

We are seeking our first Senior Product Designer to own the experience design of our learning platform. This platform encompasses applications for admissions, course delivery, grading, career coaching, and reporting. You will be responsible for the structure of user flows, navigation, and the overall feel of interactions. Additionally, you will own the design system that ensures coherence as the platform scales.

This is a hands-on, individual contributor role where you will manage the entire design process end-to-end. This includes engaging with users, defining product experiences, and delivering detailed specifications for engineers. You will work closely with a UI design contractor, providing direction and setting the standard for design quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end user flows, navigation, and information architecture across the platform, documenting them as wireframes and specifications for engineering teams.
• Own and evolve CodePath's design system, including interaction patterns, components, and standards to maintain platform consistency.
• Conduct lightweight product discovery by interviewing students, staff, and internal stakeholders to define requirements, particularly for platform areas and internal tools without dedicated product managers.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate prioritized initiatives into build-ready designs.
• Partner with engineers to address design questions during the development process.
• Direct a UI design contractor to extend and implement design solutions.
• Establish and maintain a high bar for user experience quality across the product.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience designing web products end-to-end, with a portfolio showcasing your process, thinking on flows, and structural design.
• Strong skills in information architecture and interaction design, with the ability to translate ambiguous problems into clear flows, navigation models, and specifications.
• Proven experience conducting user and stakeholder discovery to define product needs.
• Experience building or significantly contributing to a design system.
• Proficiency in creating engineer-ready artifacts (wireframes, prototypes, specs) using Figma or similar tools.
• Comfort working in ambiguous environments and within small teams, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact.

Nice to Haves

• Experience designing for the education sector, marketplaces, or data-intensive products.
• Previous experience as an early or first design hire on a team.
• Familiarity with how AI and LLM features influence product design.
• Basic front-end development knowledge (HTML, CSS, Tailwind) to facilitate collaboration with engineers and assess feasibility.

• Compensation: A competitive annual salary ranging from $148,000 to $190,000 USD for US-based applicants, adjusted based on location for candidates in Canada, LATAM, and Europe. Salary is determined by relevant experience and skills.
