About the Role
Launch Potato is seeking a Lead BI Developer to own the reporting infrastructure that supports decision-making across our Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. This role offers a clear growth path into becoming a proactive analytical partner who anticipates business needs. You will be embedded with business teams, partnering closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management to uncover trends, analyze experiments, and provide insights that drive the business forward. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about ensuring their work is understood and acted upon.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit existing reporting, identify discrepancies, and develop a roadmap to standardize reporting across assigned verticals.
- Bridge business context and data understanding, articulating how verticals generate revenue and identifying key performance levers.
- Improve dashboard standardization and execute ad hoc requests with accuracy and business context.
- Develop trusted data sources to enhance data consumption efficiency.
- Build strong working relationships with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams.
- Deliver standardized reporting suites that enable confident self-service analytics.
- Conduct proactive retrospective analyses across experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance.
- Become the trusted technical owner for assigned verticals, from raw data ingestion to final dashboard.
- Recommend actions based on findings, not just report data.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics, with direct exposure to performance or affiliate marketing.
- Expert SQL skills and comfort working with unstructured, complex data.
- Proven ability to build, standardize, and drive adoption of reporting, enhancing data literacy within teams.
- Experience connecting data directly to business drivers such as campaign performance, conversion rates, or revenue per session.
- Advanced LookML development experience, or equivalent in Power BI/Tableau.
- Strong curiosity and business depth, with a drive to understand the business to become a trusted analytical partner.
- Experience owning reporting end-to-end, including data pipelines and dashboards.
- Experience working with messy, complex, third-party data.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business teams to uncover trends and conduct retrospective analyses.
