Job Description
Lead Data Analyst, Marketing
Launch Potato is a profitable digital media company reaching over 30 million monthly visitors through brands like FinanceBuzz, All About Cookies, and OnlyInYourState. As The Discovery and Conversion Company, our mission is to connect consumers with leading brands through data-driven content and technology. We foster a high-growth, high-performance culture where speed, ownership, and measurable impact drive success. Headquartered in South Florida, we operate with a remote-first team spanning over 15 countries.
About the Role
Launch Potato is seeking a Lead Data Analyst to own the reporting infrastructure that drives decision-making across our Credit Cards, Make Money/Manage Money, Banking, and Marketplace verticals. This role offers a clear growth path into becoming a proactive analytical partner who anticipates future needs. You will be embedded with the business teams, partnering closely with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management to uncover trends, analyze experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) performance. This is not a role for someone who simply builds dashboards; it's for an individual deeply invested in ensuring their work is used, understood, and acted upon.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand their needs and how reporting is utilized.
- Audit existing reporting, identify discrepancies, redundancies, and inconsistencies.
- Develop and execute a roadmap to standardize reporting across assigned verticals.
- Articulate how assigned verticals generate revenue and identify key performance levers.
- Execute ad hoc requests with accuracy and business context.
- Develop trusted data sources to improve data consumption efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with Yield, Paid Media, and Account Management teams.
- Deliver proactive retrospective analyses across experiments, creatives, offers, seasonality, and CAC performance.
- Educate teams on best practices and enable confident self-service analytics through a standardized reporting suite.
- Act as a trusted technical owner for assigned verticals, from raw data ingestion to final dashboard.
- Recommend actions based on data insights, not just report findings.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in business intelligence or analytics, with direct exposure to performance or affiliate marketing.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and comfort working with unstructured, complex data.
- Proven ability to build, standardize, and drive adoption of reporting, enhancing data literacy within teams.
- Experience in performance marketing optimization, connecting data directly to business drivers like campaign performance, conversion rates, and revenue per session.
- Advanced LookML development experience (or equivalent in Power BI/Tableau).
- Strong curiosity and business depth, with a drive to understand the business to become a trusted analytical partner.
- Experience owning reporting end-to-end, from pipeline to dashboard.
- Experience working with messy, complex, third-party data.
- Demonstrated ability to partner closely with business teams to uncover meaningful trends, conduct retrospective analyses, and connect data work to business decisions.
- Analytical Rigor: Ability to ask critical questions and trace discrepancies to their source.
- Business Acumen: Invests time in understanding the business before pulling data.
- Communication Skills: Ability to ask clarifying questions upfront to ensure insights are delivered with the right context.
- Proactive Ownership: Ability to surface problems early and drive work forward independently.
- Collaboration Skills: Ability to build trust by asking genuine questions and demonstrating care for stakeholder needs.
- Curiosity & Growth Mindset: Driven to grow from a technical executor into an analytical partner.
What We Offer
- Base Salary: $120,000 to $150,000 per year, paid semi-monthly.
- Total Compensation: Includes base salary, profit-sharing bonus, and competitive benefits.
- Work Model: Fully remote.
- Contract: Permanent position.
- Culture: A high-growth, high-performance culture where speed, ownership, and measurable impact are valued.
- Growth: Opportunities to accelerate your career by owning outcomes and driving impact with a global team.
- Diversity & Inclusion: We are committed to having a diverse, inclusive team and culture and are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity company.
