About the Role
As an Enterprise Account Executive, you will be the primary point of contact between GitLab and customers in the CIS region. You will sell our comprehensive AI-powered DevSecOps platform to organizations of up to 4,000 team members, helping them adopt and expand their use of GitLab. You will manage a broad book of business across various opportunity sizes, supporting both small, fast-growing teams and larger, more complex modernization projects.
Reporting to an Area Sales Manager, you will collaborate closely with business development, marketing, and technical teams. You will own the full sales process, from shaping the customer's journey and documenting buying criteria to maintaining an accurate pipeline and sharing insights on wins and losses. In your first year, you will focus on building trusted relationships, delivering business outcomes for customers, and acting as the voice of the customer internally by contributing to our public issue tracker and sales handbook.
Key Responsibilities
- Report to an Area Sales Manager and manage a broad book of business, covering new prospects and existing account growth across the CIS region.
- Manage the complete sales cycle for prospects, from initial discovery and solution alignment through negotiation and closing.
- Clearly articulate GitLab's DevSecOps value proposition and align it with customer business outcomes.
- Analyze wins and losses, contribute to root cause analyses, and share learnings with account managers, marketing, and technical teams.
- Document and maintain accurate buying criteria, buying processes, next steps, and ownership to ensure a reliable, evidence-based pipeline.
- Contribute to the improvement of our sales handbook and processes by documenting best practices and identifying areas for refinement.
- Provide account leadership and direction across pre-sales and post-sales activities, partnering closely with technical teams and customer success.
- Represent the voice of the customer by providing product feedback and ideas to our public issue tracker.
Requirements
- Proven success in software sales, preferably in a mid-market or enterprise setting, managing a diverse book of business.
- Ability to guide customers through the entire buying journey, including defining buying criteria, mapping buying processes, and driving clear next steps.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with business development, marketing, technical teams, and sales management.
- Experience in documenting and maintaining accurate pipeline data and account plans based on evidence.
- Skill in conducting and contributing to win/loss and root cause analyses, and sharing insights to enhance team performance and processes.
- Proficiency in negotiation, presenting to customer stakeholders, and leading commercial discussions to close opportunities.
- Interest in GitLab, open-source software, and familiarity with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management is a plus.
- Alignment with GitLab's values and a willingness to contribute from diverse or transferable sales backgrounds.
- Willingness to travel in line with company policy.
- Fluency in Russian and English is required.
