About the Role
The Europe Labor Relations Leader will provide strategic direction and hands-on execution for programs, projects, and initiatives aligned with GE Vernova’s labor and employee relations objectives in Europe. This role is crucial for managing the GE Vernova European Works Council, advising leadership on engagement processes, and ensuring alignment with country-level labor relations activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the European Works Council, driving GE Vernova's labor and employee relations strategy at the European level.
- Ensure alignment and consistent execution of labor relations strategies across all business segments.
- Liaise with country labor relations teams to ensure consistency and coordination on project proposals, information and consultation processes, and the implementation of change initiatives.
- Develop standard operating procedures for engaging in information and consultation processes related to business changes.
- Create and deliver training for People Leaders and HR on best practices for employee engagement, communication, and managing change.
- Lead the planning and execution of labor and employee relations projects, including transformation, restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, consultations, negotiations, and training programs.
- Collaborate closely with the Legal & Ethics function to ensure compliance with European labor relations laws and regulations, adapting to evolving trends and proactively managing risk.
- Partner with Segment HR teams, Vernova HQ HR, People Operations, and other Global Functions to deliver high-quality labor and employee relations projects.
- Utilize lean tools and methodologies to support GE Vernova's transformation initiatives.
- Identify and share best practices in labor and employee relations.
- Assist in governance by maintaining relevant data and metrics.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple change projects within a complex European organization.
- Proven experience managing a European Works Council and/or multiple country-level works councils.
- Experience managing labor relations on a cross-jurisdictional basis to drive consistency and deliver meaningful change.
- Significant experience in HR roles with a strong emphasis on Labor Relations or Employee Relations, preferably within Production, Maintenance, or Services environments.
- Ability to make independent decisions, manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, and interface effectively at all organizational levels.
- Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused, team-first mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong PowerPoint and presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Process and detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to travel approximately 35% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience operating at a European level within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Advanced degree in HR Management, Law, or Industrial Relations, or equivalent knowledge/experience (e.g., MBA, MHR/IR).
