About the Role

Join Canva, a company redefining how the world experiences design. This is a unique opportunity to join our organic social team as a Social Content Videographer on a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will be a creative collaborator, embedded within the team responsible for Canva's presence on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn. This role is focused on creating fast-paced, reactive, and culturally relevant content to build Canva's US presence at the speed of culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Shoot and edit social-first video content, primarily using an iPhone, optimized for platforms like TikTok and Instagram.
• Conceptualize original content ideas and proactively bring them to the team, rather than solely executing briefs.
• Monitor US trends, pop culture, and breaking moments in real-time, producing same-day content when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with the Social Lead to develop entertainment-led series and culturally resonant brand initiatives that drive audience engagement.
• Produce a mix of lo-fi, reactive content and more polished, cinematic edits, understanding the appropriate use for each.
• Contribute to light graphic design or meme formats if within your skillset.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a social-first creator, comfortable shooting on both iPhone and traditional cameras.
• Deep understanding of TikTok and Instagram, including trends, hooks, and what captures audience attention.
• Ability to conceptualize and execute ideas independently, from spark to post.
• Experience working at speed, with a comfort level for reactive, same-day production.
• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro; experience with CapCut or DaVinci Resolve is also valuable.
• Some experience in a corporate or agency environment, with an ability to handle structure and process.
