About the Role
As a Senior Technical Recruiter, you will own the full-cycle recruiting process for Deepgram's most critical and high-impact engineering roles. You will play a key part in scaling our global team by building robust pipelines for AI-native technical talent, navigating diverse market dynamics, and partnering with hiring managers to implement compliant and scalable hiring practices. This role requires a deep understanding of how AI products are built and deployed, strong judgment on technical qualifications, and a strategic, systems-level view of recruiting across different geographies and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle recruiting for senior and hard-to-fill technical roles within Research, Engineering, and Product teams.
- Lead global recruiting efforts across multiple regions (e.g., US, EMEA, APAC), including sourcing, interviewing, and closing candidates.
- Partner with hiring managers to define role scope, leveling, and interview plans, considering business needs and regional talent realities.
- Develop proactive sourcing strategies for niche and senior-level technical talent in competitive international markets.
- Evaluate candidates for technical depth, impact, and alignment with Deepgram’s values across diverse cultural and regional contexts.
- Deliver an exceptional candidate experience across time zones through clear communication, thoughtful process design, and operational rigor.
- Utilize data and funnel metrics to diagnose issues, improve signal quality, and increase global hiring velocity.
- Collaborate with People Operations, Legal, and Finance to ensure compliant global hiring practices.
- Contribute to the evolution of recruiting infrastructure, tools, and interview practices to support international scale.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience leading global expansion efforts, including hiring across multiple countries or regions.
- Experience recruiting for at least two of the following domains: Customer Engineering / Solutions Engineering, Backend / Platform Infrastructure, Product Engineering, or Developer-facing roles.
- Strong technical literacy: understanding of how modern software systems, APIs, and customer-integrated technical products are built.
- Proven ability to source and close senior-level and highly specialized technical talent in competitive, international markets.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and helping teams define clear hiring criteria across different regions and customer segments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to balance speed-to-hire with maintaining a high hiring bar.
- A builder's mindset focused on process quality, signal, and long-term scalability.
Nice to Have
- Experience recruiting for AI-native, AI-first, or applied AI companies.
- Deep familiarity with AI/ML systems, LLMs, real-time inference, or data-intensive infrastructure.
- Experience supporting distributed, remote-first teams building AI products across time zones and geographies.
