About the Role
The Day-2 Services Enterprise Architect will lead Day-2 Support and Managed Services engagements, guiding cross-functional technical teams through pre-sales processes and into production. You will serve as the primary technical and consultative liaison between WWT Sales, Engineers, Architects, and customers for projects. This role involves providing technical and business outcome leadership, ensuring alignment between WWT teams and customer leaders, and developing project deliverables such as presentations, solution options, plans, strategies, designs, assessments, and business case analyses. When designated as the Solution/Technical Leader, you will partner with PMO leadership in WWT's "Two in the Box" model to drive successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the primary technical and business outcome leader for Day-2 Services engagements.
- Serve as the single technical voice facing the client externally and the escalation point internally during pre-sales and transition periods.
- Partner with Day-2 Leadership and PMO counterparts to resolve project risks and issues.
- Ensure WWT best practices and templates are followed and delivered to the customer.
- Review deployment documents, technical assessments, and other technical outputs for accuracy and consistency.
- Manage technical/line of business communication between WWT and the customer from engagement start to production transition.
- Lead architecture activities, including discovery, analysis, and technical/business recommendations.
- Develop and deliver in-depth technical solutions and presentations.
- Take full responsibility for the execution and delivery of critical tasks and projects during pre-sales and transition activities.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical deficiencies.
- Coach and mentor project teams.
- Maintain current knowledge of Day-2 services, industry trends, and tools.
- Ensure all components and usage are consistent and compliant with applicable standards and policies, including international compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts/Science degree or equivalent proven experience.
- 8+ years of leadership experience in IT infrastructure architecture development and technology consulting, advisory, or professional services.
- Extensive experience in multi-technology environments (WAN/LAN, Data Center, WLAN, Collaboration, Compute) and Managed Services – Day-2 Support.
- Proven experience managing complex projects and architecture.
- Extensive client engagement and management experience, preferably in a Professional Services and Network Operations Center environment.
- Thorough understanding of financial processes, including Profit & Loss (P&L) and financial management, with acumen for tracking and forecasting project costs.
- Thorough understanding of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
- Flexibility to work across multiple time zones as needed.
- Experience working in a matrix organization.
Preferred Qualifications
- One or more major industry IT certifications, ideally with WWT’s core OEM partners.
- Demonstrated leadership, team building, and management skills.
- Global/remote work experience and familiarity with international standards (e.g., data privacy).
- Advanced client-facing skills, including analyzing and providing solutions to complex architecture or services problems, influencing, and negotiating.
- Post-graduate training in a business-related discipline or management.
