About the Role
As a Client Sales Representative, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients originating from inbound leads. Your primary responsibility will be to engage with potential customers, build relationships, and guide them through the sales process. You will articulate the value of Toptal's services and help clients understand how we can support their goals. This is a remote position ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are driven to exceed sales quotas, and are passionate about sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Cycle Management: Conduct sales calls, articulate Toptal's value proposition, and manage deal cycles from discovery through to close.
- Client Experience: Execute a customer-centric approach in all interactions, build rapport with prospective clients, and stay informed about industry trends and competitors.
- Collaboration: Promptly respond to high-volume inbound client inquiries and collaborate effectively with team members via Zoom and Slack.
- Growth and Development: Actively seek and implement feedback to improve individual and team performance.
What to Expect
- First Week: Onboard, learn Toptal's model and story, begin sales training, and get acquainted with cross-functional teams.
- First Month: Complete sales training, accurately articulate Toptal's value proposition, handle incoming leads, overcome objections, and begin closing new business.
- First Three Months: Be fully ramped up, complete vertical-specific training, build a healthy pipeline, and achieve sales goals.
- First Six Months: Consistently meet or exceed sales goals, identify process improvements, and implement sales best practices.
- First Year: Mentor new team members, continue to close new business, and become a consistent contributor to the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 1-3 years of B2B sales experience (e.g., Account Executive, Inside Sales, Outside Sales Representative).
- Software or tech-related sales experience and education are a plus.
- Client-centric mindset with the ability to uncover and resolve client issues through value-based selling.
- A "will-to-win" attitude with a drive to exceed quotas.
- A "learn-it-all" mentality, eager for growth, improvement, and knowledge sharing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
