RICOH is seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our Technology Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for servicing and repairing a variety of office equipment, primarily Multi-Function Printers (MFPs), at customer locations within a designated geographic area. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician to specialize in complex mid-volume devices and contribute to exceptional customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Specialize in the servicing and repair of complex mid-volume multi-functional devices, with the flexibility to service low-volume devices as needed.
- Perform a full range of servicing and repair procedures, including diagnostics, installation, removal, and retrofits.
- Manage your assigned territory, including inventory and customer relationships.
- Achieve productivity targets based on your assigned workload and experience level.
- Complete technical training on new equipment as assigned.
- Maintain and manage your personal parts inventory with a high degree of accuracy.
- Adhere to territory back-up plans.
- Complete all administrative tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
- Interact with external customers to determine service needs and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Maintain productive, professional relationships with customers and company personnel.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair or replacement of equipment components on black & white, color, and multifunctional devices.
Requirements
- Post-Secondary Education in a technical specialization.
- Excellent working knowledge of electro-mechanical devices and electronics.
- Solid knowledge of assigned equipment.
- Skilled, methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical information from technical manuals, parts books, and relevant publications.
- High degree of mechanical aptitude, focus, and drive to learn.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and take initiative.
- Strong attention to detail and good visual skills for assessing image quality.
- Ability to access and service equipment in various locations, including low, high, or cramped spaces.
- Diplomatic and professional demeanor.
- Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
- Commitment to continuously upgrading knowledge of RICOH products.
- Valid driver's license and applicable auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to travel extensively daily within your assigned territory.
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, stand-by, or on-call as required.
- Physical ability to move objects up to 400 pounds on wheels, lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds, and perform tasks involving walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting, stooping, squatting, and kneeling.
- Ability to carry tool cases and assorted service tools (25-50 pounds) and demonstrate high dexterity with hand tools, including fine-motor skills for small electronic and mechanical components.
