Brand Strategist (Remote, Freelance)

Digital is seeking a talented and experienced Brand Strategist to join our team on a freelance basis. This remote role is ideal for a strategic thinker passionate about building authentic brand identities and driving audience growth, particularly within the entertainment, media, or creator-led brand space.

About the Role

You will be responsible for defining and executing a high-level brand and social growth strategy. The focus will be on audience development, content strategy, short-form video, and paid social recommendations across key platforms like Instagram and TikTok. While paid media is a component, the primary emphasis is on cultivating an engaged community and a distinctive brand identity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive audience growth strategies across Instagram, TikTok, and other relevant social platforms.
• Provide expert advice on content pillars, themes, and positioning to establish a unique social brand presence.
• Recommend effective Reels and short-form video strategies, including content cadence and format optimization.
• Build and manage community engagement initiatives, fostering relationships with creators and fans.
• Offer high-level paid media recommendations (Meta Ads, TikTok, YouTube) that align with overall brand growth objectives.
• Define target audiences, advising on segmentation and identifying key growth opportunities.
• Collaborate effectively with filmmakers and internal teams to ensure social strategy complements broader brand objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in audience growth, social media strategy, and paid media, specifically for entertainment, media, or creator-led brands.
• Expertise with platforms including Instagram, TikTok, and Meta (Facebook), with a strong understanding of short-form video content.
• Demonstrated ability in community building and creator engagement.
• Capacity to operate independently as a freelance consultant while delivering strategic guidance.
• Preference for candidates based in the US or with a strong understanding of the US film and entertainment audience.
