Automation Engineer

Pratt Industries is seeking a skilled and motivated Automation Engineer to join our innovative manufacturing team. This is a permanent, onsite position based in Shreveport, LA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in integrating advanced AI technologies into manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement AI solutions to automate and optimize manufacturing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI systems into existing workflows and machinery.
• Analyze current manufacturing systems to identify opportunities for AI and automation integration.
• Develop detailed design specifications and functional requirements for new systems.
• Create and deploy machine learning algorithms and models to predict, analyze, and enhance manufacturing outcomes.
• Manage AI integration projects from conception through implementation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project goals.
• Collect, preprocess, and analyze large sets of manufacturing data to train AI models.
• Ensure data integrity and security throughout the data management process.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, implementing improvements and updates as necessary.
• Provide ongoing technical support and training to manufacturing teams on the use and maintenance of AI systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Robotics, or a related field.
• Proven experience in AI, machine learning, and automation within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong background in systems integration and project management.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python.
• Experience with AI frameworks and tools (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial automation protocols.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with IoT, edge computing, and advanced robotics as they pertain to manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, manuals, and regulations.
• Ability to apply concepts of algebra and statistics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
