About the Role
Join Upstream Rehabilitation and drive meaningful impact for associates and patients. As a Senior Business Analyst, you will lead cross-functional initiatives across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). You will partner with business and IT stakeholders to define requirements, align priorities, and deliver solutions that create measurable value. This role is key in driving clarity, managing change, and supporting successful implementation, while also strengthening best practices and fostering collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end requirements for complex, cross-functional initiatives from discovery and scope definition to delivery.
- Partner with business, product, engineering, QA, and project leaders to align on approach, milestones, risks, and success metrics.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to analyze current processes, identify gaps, and design improved future-state workflows.
- Create and manage clear, actionable deliverables, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mapping, and business rules.
- Own requirements across the SDLC, ensuring traceability and effectively managing evolving scope and priorities.
- Collaborate with technical teams to evaluate solutions and ensure alignment with business goals and compliance needs.
- Support QA and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate outcomes, resolve defects, and ensure high-quality releases.
- Communicate status, risks, and decisions to stakeholders and leadership with clarity and consistency.
- Drive implementation readiness, documentation, and adoption while mentoring others and elevating BA best practices.
- Undertake other projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience delivering complex initiatives as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst across the SDLC (Agile and/or Waterfall).
- Proven ability to lead discovery, define requirements, and produce clear, actionable deliverables (user stories, process flows, acceptance criteria).
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with business, product, engineering, and QA to manage scope, ensure traceability, and drive delivery.
- Strong understanding of systems, integrations, and data flows, with the ability to connect technical solutions to business outcomes.
- Confident communicator and facilitator who can align stakeholders and translate between business and technical teams.
- Analytical, organized, and self-directed; able to manage competing priorities and deliver results.
Nice to Haves
- Experience leading large, cross-functional software initiatives end-to-end, including integrations and multi-system impacts.
- Strong background in process improvement, including current/future state analysis, process mapping, and gap analysis.
- Experience partnering closely with engineering and QA to support sprint/release planning, UAT, and defect resolution.
- Healthcare experience, including knowledge of revenue cycle, billing standards, payer rules, or clinic workflows.
- Working knowledge of SQL and reporting/analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) to support data-driven decisions.
- CBAP (IIBA), PMI-PBA, CSPO, SAFe POPM, or similar certification.
