About the Role
The Data Quality Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the University of Colorado's fundraising success by maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the donor/alumni database. You will be responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and enhancing the quality of constituent records, ensuring data is consistent, trusted, and accessible. This position is ideal for someone passionate about data management, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter, research, analyze, and resolve data, adhering to established policies and procedures.
- Apply and maintain data indexing and coding standards within the database, identifying needs for updates or new standards.
- Assist in documenting and updating procedural and standards documents.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, professionally representing Advancement and the University.
- Respond to inquiries and requests received via the Data Management e-mail inbox.
- Utilize research and analytical skills to resolve duplicate records in the Advancement CRM and collaborate with other teams to prevent future duplicates.
- Participate in and contribute to data management, data quality, and data governance projects.
- Partner with colleagues in technical and business roles to improve data quality and complete data projects.
- Assist in training and instructing on processes, policies, and relevant subject matter.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or equivalent professional experience.
- One (1) year of directly related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
- A strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and the ability to self-start.
- Ability to establish and maintain partnerships with internal and external constituencies.
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years of equivalent experience.
- Experience with donor databases, data management, data integrity, and advancement operations.
Work Model
This position offers a hybrid work model, allowing for a combination of remote and in-office work. The Advancement Operations office is located in the uptown neighborhood of Denver. Hybrid employees will utilize office space for occasional team meetings and in-person tasks. Most team interactions will continue to be virtual. Applicants must be Colorado residents or able to relocate to Colorado within one month of starting employment.
