About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Casualty/Subrogation Manager to lead a new team. This role is critical in establishing processes and action plans to drive revenue and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions and resolve issues for commercial clients. Experience working with large health plans, including insurance carriers, self-funded ERISA plans, Taft-Hartley funds, Medicaid MCO, and Medicare Advantage plans is essential. Occasional travel to the nearest Gainwell office may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver all required services in accordance with new commercial business contracts and support sales efforts to expand business growth.
- Manage a team of subrogation professionals to achieve subrogation recoveries aligned with revenue goals for commercial clients.
- Ensure team performance meets all productivity, quality, and compliance objectives.
- Manage the departmental budget by overseeing staffing and resources, and by developing innovations, automations, and workflows to improve efficiency and meet client deliverables.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to staff.
- Collaborate with the internal legal department to ensure staff are informed of legal doctrines, rules, and regulations impacting commercial subrogation lines of business.
- Serve as an escalation point for internal teams and external clients to ensure high customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a minimum of 5 years of proven experience managing a subrogation team.
- Prior experience managing remote teams of 5 or more employees.
- Demonstrated experience with commercial subrogation, including insurance carriers, self-funded ERISA plans, Taft-Hartley funds, Medicaid MCO, and Medicare Advantage plans.
- Proven ability to collaborate with internal teams to drive process improvements and achieve revenue goals.
- Capacity to perform in a team environment, motivate staff, handle pressure, meet project deadlines, and manage multiple initiatives.
