Field and Events Marketer
Pogo · USA
Job Description
Field and Events Marketer
Pogo is seeking a dynamic Field and Events Marketer to own and execute impactful in-person B2B marketing initiatives. This is a permanent, onsite role based in the USA.
About the Role
As a Field and Events Marketer, you will be instrumental in leveraging conferences, dinners, and other real-life events as core B2B channels. You will manage a high volume of events throughout the year, overseeing all aspects from initial logistics and project management to evaluating their effectiveness and ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end logistics for conference and dinner programs, including venue selection, vendor management, travel arrangements, material preparation, staffing, and post-event follow-up.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with event organizers, venues, and strategic partners.
- Evaluate the return on investment (ROI) for each event, determining their value and identifying areas for improvement.
- Ensure Pogo's brand presence is exceptional at all in-person touchpoints, including event displays, dinner experiences, and promotional merchandise.
- Travel up to twice a month to ensure the smooth execution of high-priority events.
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to maximize event conversion rates.
- Develop and execute creative guerrilla marketing experiments where innovation is prioritized over budget.
About You
We are looking for a proactive and operationally-minded individual with a passion for creating memorable experiences.
Requirements:
- 1-6 years of experience in conference servicing, field marketing, or events, preferably within a tech company.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, each with numerous moving parts.
- Exceptional relationship-building abilities, particularly with event hosts, to secure optimal opportunities and partnerships.
- A keen eye for detail and a strong sense of aesthetics, ensuring high-quality execution in all event-related materials and experiences.
- Analytical skills to honestly evaluate event spend and make data-driven decisions about future investments.
- A high degree of autonomy and initiative, capable of identifying opportunities and executing independently.
- Willingness to travel up to twice a month, primarily within the US.
- Experience utilizing AI tools in your professional workflows.
- Bonus: Demonstrated creativity in guerrilla marketing, experience with consumer insights, or extensive travel experience.
Why You Might Be Excited About This Opportunity
- High Visibility and Ownership: You will own a critical and visible part of our Go-To-Market strategy, with events being a core growth channel for Pogo.
- Quality Over Quantity: Focus on highly intentional experiences that foster meaningful relationships and drive tangible business outcomes, rather than generic trade shows.
- Direct Revenue Impact: Work closely with sales and leadership to shape how events translate into pipeline, customer relationships, and long-term partnerships, with clear visibility into results.
- Shape the Playbook: As an early member of the marketing team, you will have the opportunity to influence our field marketing strategy, vendor relationships, and event standards as we scale.
- Engaging and Dynamic Role: If you thrive on face-to-face interaction, travel, and creating memorable experiences, this role offers ample opportunity to do so.
Why You Might Not Be Excited About This Opportunity
- ROI-Focused: This is not a traditional brand marketing role. The emphasis is on measurable ROI, pipeline generation, and relationship building, not solely on polished event aesthetics or vanity metrics.
- Operationally Intense: The role requires end-to-end ownership, including managing vendor issues, complex logistics, travel, last-minute changes, and post-event follow-up, with significant behind-the-scenes work.
- Fast-Paced and Autonomous: We operate with agility and minimal structure. You will need to be comfortable with speed, autonomy, and figuring things out as you go, without extensive agency support or overly defined processes.
- Frequent Travel and Context-Switching: The role involves juggling multiple events, partnerships, and experiments concurrently, with frequent travel.
- Commitment Beyond 9-to-5: While we trust team members to create a flexible schedule, the current stage of the company may require dedication beyond standard hours. We strongly encourage time off to recharge, offering unlimited PTO in addition to a minimum 20-day vacation policy.
