About the Role
You will own complex accounting areas, drive process and control improvements, and be a key contributor to the month-end close process. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment focused on long-term impact and timely execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and own the software capitalization process, including policy development, journal entries, and reconciliations.
- Build and own the commissions capitalization process, including journal entries, reporting, and reconciliations.
- Own stock-based compensation and equity accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and disclosure support.
- Own payroll-related journal entries and reconciliations.
- Assist with allocation calculations and journal entries, including overhead, customer support, and depreciation.
- Support accounting for unique and complex transactions as they arise.
- Support public company readiness initiatives, including internal control implementation, financial reporting, and close process improvements.
- Work directly with external auditors on assigned areas.
- Support the broader accounting team and take on ad hoc projects as needed.
Requirements
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- 10+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a high-growth tech or SaaS environment.
- Proven experience navigating complex accounting areas such as equity compensation, commissions accounting, or supporting a company through its first audit.
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to see tasks through from inception to completion.
- A proactive approach to building and maintaining robust documentation, controls, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience implementing new processes and tools.
- A collaborative team player willing to support the team wherever needed.
- Comfort working independently and bringing solutions to the table.
- Ability to thrive in an environment with some ambiguity and evolving processes.
- Familiarity and comfort with technical accounting areas including equity, capitalized software, commissions accounting, and allocations.
- Experience working within a growing company environment, not solely in public accounting.
