Risk Control Consultant (Specialist)

Church Mutual Insurance Company, S.I. is seeking a remote, senior-level Risk Control Consultant (Specialist) to join their team. This is a permanent, full-time position.

About the Role

As a Risk Control Consultant, you will provide specialized risk control services to Church Mutual customers and prospective accounts within a specific market segment. You will represent Risk Control in service capability presentations and customer onboarding sessions, analyze data to identify service gaps, and develop and implement solutions. A key part of this role involves creating relevant and unique educational content tailored to the specialized market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Consult with customers in the assigned market, both in-person and remotely, to implement risk mitigation strategies that reduce losses and strengthen their Risk Control Program.
  • Develop content and deliver presentations to educate internal and external customers on the unique risk exposures of the assigned market.
  • Analyze data to identify gaps in existing service strategies, resources, and training programs, then develop, recommend, and implement necessary changes.
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting Department to develop risk reduction techniques for the specialty market.
  • Partner with the Marketing Department to create risk control materials for the specialty market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required; a Bachelor's degree in a safety-related field is preferred.
  • Evidence of continuing education in the insurance industry is desired.
  • A minimum of five years of experience within the specific market segment.
  • Extensive knowledge of specialized facility operations, related loss exposures, and controls within the specific market.
  • Proficiency with training materials and programs specific to the needs of the specialized market.
  • Experience in managing risk control services on large accounts is preferred.
  • Mastery in developing and delivering presentations to groups.
  • Excellent verbal and listening skills.
  • Strong planning skills for service delivery and itinerary management.
  • Demonstrated consulting skills in the risk control area.
  • Proven ability to analyze data, develop, and implement solutions.
  • Proven time management and detailed organizational skills.

Work Environment

  • Overnight travel is required 2-3 weeks per month.
  • Travels routinely via plane to customer locations.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Work is performed indoors and may involve outdoor work in various environmental conditions.
  • May require occasional physical activities including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing.
