General Manager - Remote (Tampa or Atlanta)

About the Role

As a General Manager, you will provide strategic leadership for a multi-state territory, focusing on three key areas: culture building, revenue management, and establishing execution routines with your team and wholesale partners. Your ultimate goal is to drive P&L targets, including revenue, volume, and profit, through strong planning and execution of distribution, feature, and display initiatives. You will foster team capabilities and collaborate cross-functionally with national accounts, revenue management, field marketing, finance, and operations teams. A background in the beer or total alcohol beverage three-tier system is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Culture Building

  • Foster a winning, family-like culture with a growth mindset, encouraging mutual support and pushing each other to succeed.
  • Directly manage Area Sales Managers, Territory Sales Managers, and Field Sales Representatives, while also leading extended teams including key account managers, revenue and analytics managers, field marketers, and finance personnel within the geography.
  • Lead through clear goals, metrics, and targets, supporting performance management and career development via regular one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and talent management initiatives.
  • Build strong relationships within the team, with partners across all tiers, and with external stakeholders.
  • Ensure that selling beer remains a fun and engaging activity.

Revenue Management

  • Partner with wholesalers, the revenue management team, and Garage Beer leadership to maximize revenue and margin for the organization.
  • Adhere to the established revenue model with wholesaler partners and create value across all three tiers with Garage Beer brands.
  • Deliver value for consumers, retail partners, wholesale partners, and Garage Beer at the intersection of value and price.

Establishing Routines

  • Develop capabilities within your direct and expanded team, as well as with wholesale partners, to optimize marketplace execution.
  • Drive critical routines including annual planning (distribution, volume, investment) and the execution of these plans through structured processes for independent distribution, chain mandate execution, feature enablement, and display execution.
  • Ensure consistency in wholesaler execution, recognizing varied operational approaches and technologies while maintaining disciplined routines to maximize results.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in beverage, beer, distributor, supplier, or CPG sales.
  • Proven track record of leading a team and driving sales growth.
  • Technical proficiency, or the ability to quickly learn, various internal and external data sources (e.g., VIP, Karma, syndicated data, distributor reporting) to identify opportunities, generate insights, and present findings.
  • This is a remote-based role requiring travel primarily within your defined multi-state region, with infrequent travel for company or industry events.
