You will collaborate closely with team members on daily deliverables and assist less experienced colleagues.

  • Ensure alignment with Synovus business architecture and strategy, participating in new business intelligence initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data owners to implement processes and procedures that maintain governance, stewardship, transparency, and control of Synovus data assets.
  • Participate in testing of data governance toolsets, building an enterprise data asset map and data dictionary.
  • Work with Engineering to establish gating, data utilization policies, and external agency guidelines.
  • Execute system testing and participate in the analysis and reconciliation of data and reporting projects.
  • Maintain and report relevant product, site, and customer metrics, applying findings to develop goals and projections.
  • Create documentation for data requests, including validation, testing, and user acceptance.
  • Identify opportunities for Master Data Management to standardize data definitions and implement accurate metadata.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal business customers and Information Technology on tactical projects.
  • Observe all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to the role, and report any known or suspected violations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of experience in Information Technology, including collecting business requirements related to data usage, performing data mapping, conducting data quality assessments, and developing/utilizing automation.
  • Understanding of reporting and/or visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, SSRS, SQL Server).
  • Knowledge of various technologies, data models, and insights across relevant data sources.
  • Understanding of Governance principles.
  • Familiarity with concepts such as data mining, extraction, and analysis as they pertain to specific bank pillars (e.g., Commercial, Retail, Wealth).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to quickly shift between technology stacks.
  • Ability to mentor and train team members.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work in a key role within the finance industry.
  • A collaborative team environment.
