This role is instrumental in embedding agility, automation, and intelligence into how we manage risks and controls as Monzo scales.
About the Role

- Create a scalable operating model by designing and delivering a service model that supports a global organisation, in collaboration with Risk & Control leads.
- Drive risk and control data transformation by partnering with Data and Engineering teams to translate risk management needs into technology and data requirements.
- Support the shift to real-time risk management by identifying data-driven triggers, designing automated monitoring systems, and creating alerting mechanisms.
- Collaborate with 2nd Line and Technology teams to evolve our Risk & Control application strategy, focusing on simplification, automation, and enhanced user value.
- Champion the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in risk management, identifying partners, running Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and building business cases for AI-driven solutions.
- Own the transformation programme roadmap, including executive reporting and stakeholder engagement.
- Maintain a central view of all initiatives, track milestones, identify risks and dependencies, and manage project schedules.
- Instill a technology and data-led mindset within the Control Discipline, fostering sustainable value delivery through the transformation programme.
- Build strong partnerships with Risk, Data, Product, Engineering, Procurement, 3rd parties, and Control leads to deliver change effectively.
Requirements
- Proven programme management experience within a financial services environment.
- Experience leading teams, particularly Risk and Control teams, through change programmes.
- Experience in implementing Risk and Control systems and processes.
- An open mind, with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, sometimes unstructured environment, and think outside the box.
- Comfort and enthusiasm for leveraging AI to solve control problems.
- A 'tech and data' first mindset, with a continuous drive for process improvement.
- A hands-on approach, with a willingness to support colleagues and projects of all sizes.
- Excitement about Monzo's mission and vision.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary: £85,000 - £115,000 per annum.
- Incentive Awards tied to your performance.
- Flexible working hours and a trust-based approach to work-life balance.
- A £1,000 annual learning budget for books, training courses, and conferences.
- Support for setting up your home workspace, including a Macbook.
- A comprehensive benefits package (details available on our careers page).
