About the Role

We are seeking a talented Medical Writer to join our team in London. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific understanding, a passion for communication, and exceptional writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling scientific narratives that resonate with target audiences. You should have meticulous attention to detail and thrive in a fast-paced environment while effectively managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality content for a diverse range of medical communications projects, including extended outlines, manuscript drafts, symposia materials, advisory board documents, training programs, and detail aids.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the science and data underpinning client messaging and strategy.
• Develop content independently, ensuring it is delivered within budget and on time.
• Utilize client approval systems as required.
• Stay current with new developments in assigned therapy areas and the field of medical communications, sharing knowledge with project teams and clients.
• Present work to clients during project calls when necessary.
• Attend and report on conferences and external meetings.
• Contribute to and present proposal sections independently.
• Manage day-to-day client communication and relationships related to written work.
• Proactively communicate with clients and internal teams to manage expectations and identify potential issues, knowing when to escalate.

Requirements

• An advanced degree in a life sciences field (PhD, PharmD, or MD required).
• Experience as a Medical Writer within a healthcare communications agency or a similar environment, or be a recent graduate of an accredited PhD, PharmD, or MD program.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and communication skills with an excellent command of the English language.
• Exceptional attention to detail regarding scientific content and editorial standards.
• Ability to adapt writing style for different materials and target audiences.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with referencing software and database searching is preferable.
