ECS is seeking an experienced and dedicated Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team remotely. This role will provide crucial support for cloud-related application and infrastructure migration and modernization efforts for the NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) program. This engagement supports the External Enterprise Software Development Support Services program area, focusing on the development, support, and maintenance of NIH enterprise applications managed by the Software Engineering Branch.

About the Role
The NIAID NEAT Quality Assurance Specialist will be responsible for performing comprehensive quality assurance checks and providing software testing services for all applications maintained by the Software Engineering Branch. You will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and elevate the level of quality throughout the entire software life cycle.
- Develop and implement robust quality control and testing methodologies to ensure strict compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures.
- Establish effective measures to evaluate software quality and maintain a structured process for testing and creating associated documentation.
- Utilize automated testing tools where practical to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Conduct and/or actively participate in formal and informal reviews at predetermined points throughout the development life cycle.
- Ensure adherence to the HHS EPLC-compliant software development life cycle, as well as other government standards such as Section 508 Compliance.
- Develop and define major and minor characteristics of quality, including quality metrics and scoring parameters.
- Determine requisite quality control resources needed for project success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting Health IT software development initiatives.
- Proficiency in establishing and maintaining quality control processes.
- Knowledge of determining resource requirements for quality control.
- Prior supervisory experience in directing support staff is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining quality levels throughout the software lifecycle.
- Ability to conduct effective formal and informal reviews.
- Residency within the Washington DC Metro area is required for this role.
- Willingness to travel within the Washington DC Metro Area and CONUS as needed.
