About the Role
We are seeking a highly technical Quality Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and integrity of complex, multi-layered applications. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust automated testing strategies for web UIs, APIs, and related end-to-end data flows, while occasionally supporting both new and legacy systems through manual exploratory testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Automated testing for distributed systems, microservices, and end-to-end data flows.
- API testing for RESTful services and third-party integrations.
- Validation of asynchronous/event-driven data pipelines and message brokers.
- Testing complex backend processes, including large-scale file uploads and multi-stage processing.
- Strong focus on both automation and manual exploratory testing.
- Collaboration with Software Engineers and Product Managers using shift-left testing practices.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering.
- Strong experience with automation testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or PyTest.
- Expertise in API testing using REST APIs, Postman, and PyTest.
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, distributed systems, and microservices.
- Strong functional testing skills, including end-to-end and integration testing.
- Experience validating third-party integrations, data flows, and API contracts.
- Hands-on experience testing complex backend processes, file uploads, and data pipelines.
- Knowledge of SQL, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of distributed systems, MFE (Micro-Frontends), and SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) architectures.
- Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript with solid Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) knowledge.
- Strong problem-solving, test design, and communication skills.
