About Stripe
Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform empowering businesses worldwide. Millions of companies, from startups to global enterprises, rely on Stripe to process payments, increase revenue, and drive new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, offering you an unparalleled chance to shape the global economy and undertake impactful work.
About the Team
The Web Presence & Platform (WPP) team is divided into two key areas: Platform and Presence. The Platform pillar focuses on building internal systems, tooling, and infrastructure to support web operations. The Presence pillar is responsible for Stripe's public-facing storytelling across stripe.com and link.com, including the homepage, product landing pages, and other critical go-to-market surfaces. Together, we define how millions understand Stripe's capabilities.
Designers on the Presence team blend creative execution with strategic impact, balancing clarity, polish, and systems thinking with compelling storytelling and experimentation. We collaborate closely with engineering, marketing, content, and product teams to deliver work that is both visually appealing and drives measurable business results.
About the Role
As a Designer on the Presence team, you will own the design for two high-visibility and strategically important areas: Link (Stripe's one-click checkout experience and link.com) and Bridge (bridge.xyz, Stripe's stablecoin financial infrastructure). These surfaces present unique audience, brand voice, and design challenges, offering significant creative demands.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, managing projects from inception to launch, navigating ambiguity with confidence, and setting the standard for design quality in your focus areas. You will contribute to the evolution of design systems and storytelling frameworks, building deep expertise and becoming a trusted partner to cross-functional teams. This role is ideal for a designer adept at leading complex projects while also meticulously refining individual details.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design of Link and Bridge, from strategy to final delivery, with minimal supervision.
- Drive clarity in ambiguous briefs by synthesizing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product marketing, content design, brand, and product teams, ensuring alignment and project momentum.
- Partner closely with engineering throughout the design process, from exploring technical possibilities to co-creating solutions and ensuring design intent is realized.
- Develop and advance design systems, patterns, and components specific to your surfaces, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Apply and evolve visual and interaction standards to uphold Stripe's quality bar across diverse web surfaces.
- Utilize research insights, user testing, and performance data to inform design decisions and advocate for the user.
- Contribute to team quality through expertise sharing, active participation in critiques, and raising the overall standard of work.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of relevant design experience, preferably in web, product marketing, or brand contexts.
- A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional visual craft, systems thinking, and the ability to lead complex design projects independently.
- Proven ability to own projects end-to-end in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Deep fluency in layout, typography, color, motion, and interaction design, with a keen eye for detail.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity and developing clear plans from loose briefs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate thinking clearly and manage expectations.
- Proficiency in Figma and experience with component-based design systems.
- Fluency with AI design tools and workflows, with a curiosity for evolving AI landscapes.
- Experience designing for CMS-driven websites with modular, scalable systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing event or campaign-driven marketing experiences.
- Familiarity with designing for financial products or developer audiences.
- Fluency with front-end development workflows for effective collaboration with engineers.
- Experience designing for international audiences, multilingual surfaces, or accessibility requirements.
- Experience owning or contributing to design across multiple distinct web properties or brand identities.
- A track record of advancing shared design patterns, systems, or tooling.
