Legal Consultant – Financial Services Regulatory / Payments (APAC)

Axiom is seeking a seasoned lawyer with expertise in financial services regulation to join our team. This is a remote, contract position, offering the opportunity to work with Fortune 500 global clients.

About the Role

As a Legal Consultant, you will provide critical legal advice and support on a wide range of financial services regulations, with a particular focus on payment regulations within the APAC region. You will play a key role in ensuring clients meet their regulatory obligations and embed these requirements into their business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad spectrum of financial services regulations.
• Support clients with licensing and regulatory engagement processes.
• Handle regulatory queries and provide expert legal advice on Singapore and APAC financial regulations, including MAS guidelines.
• Draft and review various legal documentation, such as policies, contracts, and disclosures.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including product, risk, and compliance, to integrate regulatory requirements into business operations.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer with 4-12+ years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
• Demonstrated focus and experience in payment and/or financial services regulatory law.
• Experience gained from financial institutions or law firms.
• Strong understanding of APAC financial regulations.
