The Role
As a Senior Construction Quality Manager, you will be instrumental in leading and scaling our quality management system across ILOS’ portfolio of utility-scale solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) construction projects throughout Europe. This senior position carries responsibility for quality strategy, governance, and delivery across multiple active construction sites. Your focus will be on ensuring consistent application of standards, proactive defect prevention, and holding contractors accountable for delivering high-quality assets.
You will serve as the central quality lead within the construction organization, driving standardization, continuous improvement, and cross-project learning. Additionally, you will support and develop project-based quality teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and continuously improve ILOS’ Quality Management System (QMS) throughout engineering, construction, testing, and handover phases.
- Define and implement standardized Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and reporting frameworks across all projects.
- Oversee quality performance across multiple solar PV and BESS construction sites in various European markets.
- Ensure robust site quality assurance for key scopes, including civil works, ramming, mounting structures, and PV module installation.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), track defects, and oversee snagging and punch-list closure, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Act as the senior quality interface for EPC contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring accountability for quality delivery.
- Monitor quality Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), utilize digital QA tools, and analyze reporting to identify recurring issues, trends, and improvement opportunities.
- Support project handover readiness by ensuring the completeness and accuracy of quality documentation, as-built records, and test results.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project-level quality managers, QA/QC engineers, and site inspectors.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Significant experience in QA/QC management within EPC or major construction projects, preferably in utility-scale solar PV. Experience with BESS is advantageous.
- Proven track record of overseeing quality across multiple sites or projects concurrently.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and relevant technical standards.
- Experience with Inspection & Test Plans, NCR processes, quality documentation systems, and handover readiness procedures.
- Ability to challenge contractors, drive accountability, and maintain high standards in fast-paced site environments.
- Excellent reporting, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on as needed.
- Fluent English is required. Additional European languages are a plus.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across Europe.
