Associate General Manager, Logistics
Carvana is seeking an Associate General Manager for Logistics to oversee multiple managers and their teams at a Logistic Field Operations location in Sarasota, USA. This is a permanent, full-time, onsite position.
About the Role
This role is instrumental in ensuring the efficient and effective day-to-day operations of the logistics facility. You will collaborate with the General Manager and other company leaders to develop and execute site-specific goals and strategies, optimizing network operations through prioritization, resource allocation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in ensuring smooth and efficient business operations.
- Develop and execute site-specific goals and objectives in alignment with company strategy.
- Implement new programs, initiatives, and strategies to optimize network operations.
- Gather and report on business, financial, service, and operations information.
- Monitor adherence to systems, policies, procedures, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for planning, scheduling, and asset management.
- Mentor and develop direct reports through coaching, leadership development, training, and performance management.
- Assist in the selection, orientation, and training of employees.
- Evaluate productivity indicators, identify trends, and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure efficient and economical performance in accordance with strategic plans and budgets.
- Proactively communicate expectations, performance measures, and goals to direct reports.
Requirements
- 2 years of people leadership experience AND 4 years of logistics or supply chain experience, OR a Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
- Demonstrable experience leading or developing people, including managing CDL drivers.
- Transportation experience (e.g., driving a vehicle transporter or tractor trailer) or equivalent military experience is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors regularly in various weather conditions.
- Flexibility to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to work in an office environment, utilizing computers extensively.
- Ability to perform physical requirements including: frequently moving in and out of vehicles; standing, bending, twisting, stooping, and squatting; walking regularly; climbing ladders and ramps; working at heights; sitting for extended periods; and regularly lifting up to 20 lbs, periodically up to 60 lbs.
