About the Role
As a Senior Analyst, Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, you will be instrumental in modeling and designing optimal business and analytical solutions. You will also be involved in process definitions, stakeholder requirements gathering, and end-user engagement studies. You will collaborate with various teams, including operations planning and analytics, account management, accounting, order-to-cash, FP&A, pricing, procurement, contract management, and IT, to build and maintain complex descriptive and prescriptive analytical solutions using advanced data tools and techniques. You will interact with GXO's data lake and data warehouses to analyze data, build solutions, and generate actionable insights related to contracts, billing & payments, procurement, ERP and WMS databases, and various Business Intelligence (BI) products.
What You'll Do on a Typical Day
- Leverage data from various sources, including data lakes, Oracle databases, ERP, WMS, and internal tools (like Excel), to build advanced data products, create descriptive and predictive models, and visualize insights on BI platforms.
- Collaborate with and manage stakeholders across different processes, facilities, locations, units, and levels to understand business objectives, define measurement solutions, and implement business processes and techniques that drive performance.
- Partner with and influence other teams, such as account management, operations support, and IT, to ensure alignment and prevent discrepancies.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for your assigned function and product, working with other business analysts to enhance operational performance.
- Identify and analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing processes.
- Support business initiatives through data analysis, identification of implementation barriers, and user acceptance testing of various systems.
- Participate in building and maintaining BI dashboards, automated and self-service tools, and provide training to end-users and other business analysts.
Requirements
At a minimum, you’ll need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience.
- Strong facilitation skills and process-driven analytical capabilities.
- 5+ years of experience with a proven record of success in business process analysis and process improvement initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience in building financial and operational models, reports, tools, and datasets.
- Advanced analytical skills and experience with data science tools including SQL, Python/R, as well as Excel, Power BI, and Power Query.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and establish effective working relationships within a matrix organization.
It would be great if you also have:
- Project Management and Lean Six Sigma belt certification.
- Ability to work with automation tools such as Airflow, Power Automate, or RPA.
- Experience with platforms like Snowflake or GCP.
- 3+ years of work experience with various departments and multi-functional projects.
- MBA or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
