Network and Cybersecurity SME (Remote, Contract)
ECS is seeking an experienced Network and Cybersecurity SME to provide remote infrastructure support for the NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) program. This role is crucial for facilitating the implementation and operation of network and cybersecurity initiatives, supporting current and future technologies within the NIAID and NIH environment.

About the Role
As a Network and Cybersecurity SME, you will offer specialized technical knowledge and analysis for highly complex applications and operational environments. You will perform high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, and provide implementation advice for moderately complex challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments.
- Conduct high-level functional systems analysis, design, and integration.
- Offer implementation advice on moderately complex problems requiring subject matter expertise.
- Apply principles, methods, and knowledge of the functional area to specific task order requirements.
- Utilize advanced mathematical principles and methods for exceptionally difficult technical problems in engineering and scientific applications to achieve automated solutions.
- Assist senior consultants with analysis, evaluation, and recommendations for system improvements, optimization, development, and maintenance efforts in areas such as:
- Information systems architecture
- Networking
- Telecommunications
- Automation
- Communications protocols
- Risk management/electronic analysis
- Software lifecycle management
- Software development methodologies
- Modeling and simulation
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including support teams and ensuring quality of service operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex security challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL v4 Foundation, SAFe, COMP, Security+, CompTIA, etc.
- Demonstrated expertise in database management, various operating systems (Windows, Linux, etc.), and multiple programming languages (Java, Python, SQL, etc.).
- Reside within the Washington DC Metro area.
- Ability to travel within the Washington DC Metro Area, and CONUS as needed.
