About the Role
This position involves providing expert technical engineering support to the SEA 05 Ship Design Manager for critical Warfare System/C4ISR programs. You will be instrumental in evaluating shipboard requirements and proposing engineering designs and integration solutions that minimize design impacts. Your work will directly influence shipbuilding contract documentation and ensure the accuracy and compliance of shipbuilder products.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical engineering support for SEA 05 Ship Design Manager (SDM) Warfare System/C4ISR programs.
- Assess shipboard requirements and recommend engineering design and integration solutions to minimize design impacts.
- Evaluate and provide input to shipbuilding contract documentation, including Contract Drawings, Schedules A & C, and Ship Specifications.
- Conduct engineering reviews of shipbuilder products, such as Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), Detail Design Drawings, and CDRLs, for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the review and quality assurance process for revising LHA CS/C4ISR Contract Drawings.
- Evaluate Bidders' questions and ECPs for technical scope compliance.
- Facilitate technical coordination between various stakeholders, including the Ship Program Manager, SEA 05, PARMs, support contractors, ISEAs, SSGC, and shipbuilding personnel, to mitigate the impact of changes.
- Travel up to 10% may be required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- 7+ years of experience in naval ship design and technical engineering support.
- Proven experience assessing shipboard requirements and providing engineering design and integration solutions.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance.
- Must obtain an interim secret security clearance to start.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, naval architecture, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with LHA amphibious assault ship CS/C4ISR systems and contract documentation.
