About the Role
This position is responsible for investigating all privacy inadvertent disclosures and breaches across the organization in compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and relevant regulations. You will coordinate with Talent and management to ensure compliance with the Privacy Corrective Action policy. Additionally, you will ensure the company remains compliant with potential reporting obligations under federal, state, and other rules and regulations in all operating locations as they relate to privacy. This role will prepare all documentation on privacy breaches and provide quarterly reporting for leadership. You will act as both a Business Analyst and Project Manager on regulatory matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate all privacy matters across the organization.
- Provide guidance, advice, and education to business leads and employees regarding privacy issues in compliance with federal, state, and applicable global privacy laws, including HIPAA.
- Monitor, address, and respond to reported internal and external privacy violations and inadvertent disclosures.
- Advise business leads on corrective actions for privacy violations and inadvertent disclosures, ensuring appropriate documentation and written correspondence are completed and maintained.
- Collaborate with Talent concerning corrective actions for privacy violations.
- Compile documentation, perform data entry, and analyze privacy matters.
- Prepare quarterly reporting and data for leadership.
- Initiate, plan, execute, control, and close all regulatory compliance filing activities, including developing project plans and timetables.
- Identify, calculate, mitigate, and monitor risks, creating contingency plans and advising management.
- Develop work plans for regulatory filings and prepare executive summaries for management review.
- Solicit, analyze, and document regulatory filing requirements, ensuring project teams develop solutions that meet these needs.
- Establish and maintain agreement between business units and project teams on deliverables for regulatory filing requirements.
- Track and resolve issues by proposing viable solutions.
- Manage multiple priorities, customer expectations, and stakeholder relationships.
- Collaborate, coordinate, and communicate across disciplines and departments.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws relating to securities, healthcare, data privacy and security (including HIPAA), and government programs.
- Demonstrate commitment to the Company’s core values.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree; paralegal preferred.
- Knowledge of the Healthcare industry with a background in privacy preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Project Manager; BA and healthcare industry experience preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in designing and implementing best practices for project management methodologies, requirements definition, and management practices.
- International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)/Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) preferred.
- Expert-level business and system analysis skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and platforms for privacy and compliance.
- Ability to take initiative and suggest solutions to problems.
- Ability to facilitate teams and client relationships to satisfy needs and identify improvements.
- Ability to develop strong relationships with all levels of management.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to excellent customer service and follow-through.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects, including continuous evaluation and re-ordering of priorities.
