About the Role:
Magic is seeking a freelance, remote Sales Development Representative (SDR) to support a U.S.-based construction and remodeling company. This role is crucial for scaling the business towards $5 million in annual gross sales by managing the pre-qualification and intake process for new clients. You will be the first point of contact for potential clients, ensuring a professional and efficient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Pre-qualification and Intake:
- Conduct initial intake calls to gather details on project scope, client expectations, timelines, and budget.
- Educate prospects on the company’s pre-construction process and paid site assessment model.
- Determine client fit and readiness before advancing them to the next stage.
- Pre-construction Vetting and Agreement Processing:
- Guide qualified leads through the pre-construction system and necessary documentation.
- Set clear expectations regarding deliverables, timelines, and fees.
- Process and track pre-construction agreements.
- Schedule paid on-site evaluations for aligned and ready-to-proceed clients.
- Sales Funnel Management and Appointment Setting:
- Handle incoming sales calls and referrals.
- Log, track, and nurture leads within the sales pipeline.
- Maintain pipeline hygiene and standardize client communications.
- Book and confirm qualified appointments for the owner.
- Coordination and Follow-ups:
- Follow up with vendors on material orders and delivery schedules.
- Check project status with field teams and relay updates to stakeholders.
- Manage communications and reminders to reduce context-switching for field staff.
- Operations Support:
- Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks across general contracting and plumbing divisions.
- Support scheduling, document control, and project data organization.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge of the construction industry, including terminology and core processes.
- Proven experience in sales development, appointment setting, or client intake, preferably within the construction or trades sector.
- Professional phone presence and excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow through systematically.
- Proficiency with email, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience with CRM or lead-tracking workflows is a plus.
- Ability to learn new construction technology quickly.
- Comfortable with objection handling, expectation setting, and pipeline management.
- Must possess a reliable computer (Intel i5/AMD Ryzen 5 or higher, 8GB RAM minimum), a stable internet connection (40MBPS minimum), a headset with a noise-canceling microphone, and a webcam.
- A quiet, dedicated workspace at home is required.
- A back-up computer and internet connection are recommended.
What We Offer:
- Compensation: $7.00 per hour.
- Work Model: Fully remote freelance position.
- Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–5:00 pm Pacific Time (tentative).
