Solution Engineer
Sigma Computing is seeking a Senior Solution Engineer to join our growing team and help redefine the business intelligence landscape for our customers. Our vision is to create an insight-driven world where data transforms people, organizations, and humanity for the better. We are building a cloud-native business intelligence platform that empowers users to easily conduct ad hoc analysis on their cloud-hosted databases without any SQL programming.
As a Solution Engineer at Sigma, you will be a trusted advisor to our prospects and customers, working closely with Sales, Business Development, Product Management, Engineering, and Support. You will be responsible for managing and delivering all technical aspects of the presales cycle, including presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on prototype development. You will collaborate with Regional Sales Managers to drive sales in new and existing enterprise accounts.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and uncover customer business challenges through targeted discovery sessions and workshops.
- Engage with business users to define, create, and showcase solution prototypes.
- Build and present customized demonstrations for customers, trade shows, and webinars.
- Confidently articulate the business value of the Sigma platform to all organizational levels.
- Provide product, technical, and security responses for RFPs/RFIs.
- Participate in product, sales, and technology certifications to maintain and grow skill sets.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by sharing knowledge and learning from others.
- Discuss integration and data migration approaches to support enterprise sales cycles.
- Manage multiple customer engagements concurrently.
- Achieve assigned quarterly and annual objectives.
- Become a Sigma champion and product expert, serving as an advisor to prospects and customers.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of business intelligence experience.
- Proven customer relationship skills.
- Strong understanding of database concepts.
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Fivetran, Matillion) or traditional ETL processes.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience implementing production business intelligence solutions or proof-of-concepts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent technical and business experience.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
