About the Role
The Solution Specialist plays a crucial role in the pre-sales process for qualified services opportunities. You will lead key phases of the services lifecycle, including Intake, Scoping, Service Design, and Contracting. Your primary focus will be on developing high-quality statements of work, preparing project budgets and pricing, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure successful engagement delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct discovery and requirements gathering sessions.
- Engage subject matter experts to assist in scoping projects.
- Determine WWT's approach to service delivery, including preliminary timelines, resource planning, risk assessment, estimation, and budgeting.
- Develop detailed estimates and pricing models, leveraging technical IT expertise.
- Create accurate, detailed statements of work (SOWs) that meet client objectives and mitigate contractual risks.
- Present SOWs and pricing to clients, balancing business acquisition with profitable delivery.
- Revise scope, timelines, and fees based on client feedback.
- Review engagements prepared by colleagues for compliance and quality control.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with WWT Sales, Services stakeholders, and other departments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Services organization on assigned sales opportunities.
- Independently support high-volume and low-complexity engagements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 5-10 years of related experience.
- Proven experience writing technical statements of work and sales proposals, preferably with a major information technology integrator or professional services firm.
- Experience creating and/or working with work breakdown structures (WBS) and budgets for professional services engagements in the information technology field.
- Demonstrated track record of working within infrastructure solution areas such as Networking, Digital Workspace, and Mobility.
- A background focused on Network or Infrastructure technology is desired.
- Ability to work effectively in a complex matrix organization.
- Ability to work independently, be proactive, and self-motivated, while also being a strong team player.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills to facilitate discussions, build partnerships, and present information clearly and concisely.
- The capability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
