Sales Engineer, Mid-Market Mexico (Remote)

As a Sales Engineer in Mexico, you will collaborate with sales teams to drive the modernization of essential industries through cutting-edge IoT solutions. Your work will directly contribute to a more efficient and productive supply chain by improving road safety, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, and providing a unified platform for connected operations. Daily customer engagements will focus on how IoT can positively impact logistics management, workplace safety, fleet maintenance, asset management, and regulatory compliance.

This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Mexico, with a preference for those near the Mexico City metropolitan area. Travel up to 40% of the time will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion Samsara's cultural principles and embed them within the team.
  • Build lasting relationships with customers, becoming their trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to define effective strategies for customer success.
  • Develop deep expertise in Samsara's value proposition.
  • Articulate to prospects how businesses leverage Samsara to overcome industry-specific challenges.
  • Conduct customer discovery sessions, product demonstrations, value assessments, and proof-of-concept implementations.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for installing Samsara products and assist in building deployment plans.
  • Write and document proof-of-concept scripts using our open API to address real-world problems for essential service companies, sharing these with fellow Sales Engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience working with customers in a pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity.
  • A strong aptitude for continuous growth and development.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders through technical sales acumen and a solid understanding of business processes and change management.
  • Skill in explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Previous experience managing hardware and/or software product evaluations.
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with technical consulting, cloud software, cloud-connected hardware, computer networking, business systems integration, automation, and control systems.
  • Proficiency in identifying customer value and focusing on delivering what is most important to them.

Ideal Candidate Also Has

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of enterprise experience in a pre-sales environment.
  • Experience with task automation scripting and data transfer between systems using Bash, Python, JavaScript, or equivalent languages.
  • Experience building solutions leveraging open APIs.
  • Understanding of vehicle diagnostic systems, including Controller Area Networks (CAN bus) and Power Take Off (PTO) applications.
  • A hobbyist interest in electronic systems (e.g., car audio installation, home automation, projects with Raspberry Pi or Arduino).
  • A consistent track record of success selling complex technical solutions through strategic sales cycles.
  • Located in Mexico City.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English.
