Wpromote is seeking an experienced Director of Earned & Owned Strategy to lead enterprise-level organic growth initiatives. This role focuses on local strategy and multi-location businesses, driving discoverability and measurable growth within evolving AI-driven search environments.
About the Role
As an individual contributor reporting to the Senior Director, Earned & Owned Strategy, you will oversee integrated Earned & Owned programs. Your responsibilities will span SEO, Content Marketing, and broader strategic initiatives. You will be instrumental in strengthening client visibility and evolving their presence in AI search.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading Enterprise Client Strategy & Growth:
- Serve as the executive strategic lead for key accounts, ensuring client success.
- Develop integrated earned strategy plans encompassing SEO, Local SEO, Content Marketing, AI Search, and Digital Experience.
- Provide strategic direction to channel managers.
- Translate complex business objectives into actionable roadmaps that drive measurable performance outcomes.
- Lead local strategy initiatives, including local discoverability, Google Business Profile optimization, and localized content frameworks.
- Driving AI-Era Search Leadership:
- Oversee strategic frameworks for AI Search readiness, optimizing content and technical foundations for emerging search experiences.
- Integrate AI-driven insights into forecasting, prioritization, and creative planning across Earned channels.
- Collaborating Across Teams:
- Partner with client and internal channel and analytics teams to enhance operational workflows and reporting automation.
- Lead cross-functional planning for key content activations.
- Provide executive-level oversight of campaign ideation, launch, and measurement to ensure excellence in execution.
- Accelerating Growth:
- Identify and capture new organic growth opportunities across search and local search ecosystems.
- Support business development through executive presentations, thought leadership, strategic consulting, and identifying expansion opportunities.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience leading Earned & Owned Media programs across SEO, Content, Local SEO, or adjacent digital channels in an agency client-facing role or brand-side organization.
- Experience managing integrated digital marketing campaigns that leverage cross-channel insights and collaboration.
- Working experience with Web Analytics and SEMRush or similar SEO platforms.
- Proven success managing large-scale, enterprise search and content transformation initiatives.
- Deep understanding of AI Search evolution and organic discoverability trends.
- Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to identify, prioritize, and respond to situations rapidly.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to unify teams across channels.
- Exceptional presentation and executive communication skills; confident advising senior client leadership.
