About the Role

We are seeking an experienced International SEO/AEO Manager to lead organic growth initiatives across our key international markets. This role sits at the crucial intersection of technical strategy, content, and editorial, driving user acquisition for a global brand in a regulated industry. As AI transforms information discovery, you will need expertise in both traditional SEO and emerging AI-driven search landscapes, including AI Overviews and Large Language Models (LLMs). You will develop and implement strategies for our Spanish, French, Dutch, and German markets, creating a playbook for future advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute international organic growth strategies, focusing on increasing user acquisition through traditional search and AI-driven discovery.
• Implement and refine Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) strategies, optimizing content for all search platforms with a focus on measurable outcomes in a dynamic environment.
• Monitor and analyze brand and content visibility across AI-powered search surfaces, developing strategies to enhance presence and accuracy.
• Manage the operational model for multilingual SEO/AEO content production, overseeing a distributed network of freelancers and agency partners.
• Develop and manage AI-assisted content workflows with human review, establishing editorial quality frameworks and performance standards.
• Drive international technical SEO strategy, including site architecture, crawlability, indexation, hreflang implementation, Core Web Vitals, and structured data.
• Provide consultation on international site structure decisions, such as subdomain vs. subdirectory strategies and URL architecture.
• Implement and manage a content refresh program to maintain and improve rankings and AI presence.
• Collaborate with content creators and translators, leveraging AI tools responsibly to ensure accuracy, brand voice, and regulatory compliance while increasing output.
• Define and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to organic traffic, rankings, AI citation share, and user growth by market.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of SEO experience, with at least 2 years focused on international/multilingual SEO.
• Demonstrated understanding of AEO principles and practical experience optimizing content for AI-driven search.
• Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) into content creation and editorial workflows, including quality control for regulated content.
• Proven success in driving organic growth in non-English speaking markets.
• Strong technical SEO expertise.
• Experience managing editorial or content teams, preferably across different time zones and languages.
• Familiarity with content strategy and governance in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, finance, legal).
• Excellent analytical skills, with proficiency in tools such as Google Search Console, Ahrefs, LLM visibility tools, and Looker.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building scalable AI content workflows with human-in-the-loop review.
• Understanding of LLM training and its impact on content discoverability and citation.
• Familiarity with CMS internationalization (hreflang, locale routing, translation management systems).
• Knowledge of E-E-A-T principles in regulated verticals.
• Fluency in Spanish, French, Dutch, or German is a significant advantage.
