Role Purpose
Support the Depot Manager in ensuring efficient, safe, and compliant depot operations. This role is crucial for the timely receipt, storage, and dispatch of products to customers, while optimizing costs, service levels, and inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily warehouse and depot operations, including inbound, storage, outbound, and returns, to meet service and on-time, in-full (OTIF) targets.
- Coordinate manpower planning, shift schedules, and resource allocation (Material Handling Equipment, space, docks).
- Monitor inventory accuracy, conduct cycle counts, and assist in investigating and resolving stock variances.
- Ensure compliance with Unilever's safety, quality, hygiene, and regulatory standards, fostering a "zero incident" culture.
- Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, damages, turnaround time, and costs, and support improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with transport, planning, customer service, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners to resolve operational issues.
- Support the deployment of digital tools and continuous improvement (CI) projects within the depot.
- Coach and supervise warehouse staff and contractors, supporting their performance and capability development.
Requirements
- Experience in warehouse, depot, or logistics operations, preferably within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), inventory management, and basic supply chain planning concepts.
- Strong problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Flexibility to work different shifts.
- A graduate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or a related discipline is preferred.
