About the Role

dbt Labs is seeking a proactive and curious Enterprise Sales Director to join our Revenue Team in Melbourne. This role is responsible for building our enterprise customer base within various regions in Australia. You will identify new business opportunities with prospects and drive growth for existing clients, leveraging your foresight and experience with complex sales cycles.

What You'll Do

  • Own the full sales cycle from lead generation to ongoing utilization for commercial prospects.
  • Organize Proof of Concept (POC) implementations of dbt Cloud Enterprise.
  • Lead and contribute to team projects that enhance our sales processes.
  • Collaborate with the product team to build and maintain the dbt Cloud commercial roadmap.
  • Become an expert in SQL, dbt, and commercial data operations.
  • Actively participate in the dbt open-source community.

What You'll Need

  • 6+ years of closing experience in technology sales, with a proven track record of exceeding annual targets.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into a consultative sales approach.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills, capable of engaging stakeholders at all levels of an analytics organization, from individual developers to CTOs.
  • Diligence and organizational skills to manage long, intricate sales cycles involving multiple client teams.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-paced work environment.
  • A passion for being an inclusive teammate and an active member of the community.
  • Experience with SQL or a strong willingness to learn.

  • Prior experience in analytics, ETL, BI, and/or open-sourced software.
  • Knowledge of or prior experience with dbt.

Compensation

  • Estimated On-Target Earnings (OTE) Range: $400,000—$500,000 AUD.
  • Competitive compensation packages commensurate with experience, including salary, equity, and performance-based pay.
