We are seeking a talented Lead Sales Engineering Specialist focused on Security to join our global sales engineering specialist team.

About the Role

As a Sales Engineering Specialist focused on Security, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sales and field sales engineering teams to address customer security needs. You will be responsible for providing timely responses to security questionnaires, engaging in customer-facing information security calls, and collaborating with our internal SRE and Product teams to ensure the security of Fivetran's platform. This is a full-time, permanent remote position based in Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Support sales and field sales engineering teams with deep technical knowledge of Fivetran's internal security operations, platform features, and the security domain.
• Deliver timely and accurate responses to prospect and customer security questionnaires using internal tooling.
• Collaborate with Legal and AppSec teams to maintain internal libraries for security questionnaire responses.
• Lead documentation and internal enablement efforts to scale specialist knowledge across the department.
• Work closely with Fivetran's Product and Engineering teams to ensure alignment of solutions with customer needs.
• Engage directly with prospects and customers on security architecture reviews and compliance discussions, taking on increasing ownership over time.
• Stay current with the latest technologies and trends in the security domain.

Technologies You'll Use

A strong understanding of the following technologies is expected:

• Fivetran's data integration platform, deployment methods, and security features.
• Cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
• Security technologies including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data loss prevention systems, and encryption.
• Containerization and orchestration technologies like Kubernetes and Docker, with familiarity in hybrid and self-hosted deployment models.
• Security and Data Privacy Compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI, HIPAA, HITRUST, and GDPR.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience as a security administrator, backend engineer, field CISO, or in IT services within an enterprise or similarly complex environment.
• Extensive expertise with modern cloud and on-premise network architectures, connectivity mechanisms (SSH, Reverse SSH, VPN, PrivateLink), and data security.
• Ability to effectively communicate Fivetran’s detailed security posture and influence security audiences at all levels.
• Passion for data, security, and analytics, with a philosophy of using technology to solve business problems.
• Experience with using generative AI to accelerate and scale day-to-day workflows.
• Experience with trust center management platforms and security questionnaire automation software.
• Curiosity to learn and assimilate technical information quickly, with enthusiasm for sharing knowledge.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, SQL, and Python is a bonus.
