System Administrator (Cyber Infrastructure) - Remote
ECS is seeking an experienced Cyber Infrastructure System Administrator to join our team remotely. This role is crucial for providing infrastructure support for the NIH NIAID Enabling and Advancing Technologies (NEAT) program, focusing on the implementation and operation of Network and Cybersecurity initiatives. You will play a key part in evaluating, planning, and implementing new technologies within the NIAID and NIH environment to adapt to evolving business strategies, policies, and regulatory changes.
Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract win.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the daily configuration and operation of various systems, including mainframe, mini, and client/server-based environments.
- Plan and monitor system optimization for efficient operation and resource utilization.
- Perform systems capacity analysis and planning.
- Provide assistance to users in accessing and utilizing business systems.
- Collect, store, and analyze data relevant to monitored applications to perform root cause analysis, support trend analysis, and forecasting.
- Ensure effective change management for all supported software applications.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience supporting IT infrastructure, systems, and applications, including managing support teams and ensuring quality of service operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
- Active Public Trust or higher security clearance.
- Strong supervisory skills in managing system configuration and operation.
- In-depth knowledge of optimizing system operations and resource utilization.
- Proficiency in performing systems capacity analysis and planning.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Extensive experience working with mainframe, mini, and client/server-based systems.
- Experience monitoring systems for issues and reporting on performance metrics.
- Experience applying troubleshooting techniques across various server, application, and network technologies.
- Experience with security standards and best practices, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.
- Reside within the Washington DC Metro area.
- Ability to travel within the Washington DC Metro Area and CONUS as needed.
