Job Description
AI Systems Engineering Expert (Remote, USA)
TripleTen is building an international platform of digital re-skilling products to help individuals from diverse backgrounds launch sustainable careers in tech. Our intensive courses are designed with quality educational content, interactive platforms, code reviews, and support from industry practitioners. We are seeking an experienced AI Systems Engineering Expert to join our team in a remote capacity.
This is a teaching and review role focused on a program for experienced engineers transitioning into system architecture roles. You will be the senior technical authority, guiding students through complex concepts and providing critical feedback on their work.
Key Responsibilities
- Host weekly live sessions focused on system design, scalability, failure modes, and architectural trade-offs.
- Lead group office hours and one-on-one sessions for students working on projects and capstone assignments.
- Review student projects, including architecture dossiers, deployed backends, cloud infrastructure, performance reports, security reviews, and distributed system capstones, against established rubrics.
- Provide in-depth architectural feedback, explaining the rationale behind design decisions and offering constructive criticism on unsound decisions, incorrect interfaces, or unrealistic scopes.
- Facilitate mock architecture review boards and simulated executive-panel presentations, delivering structured, senior-level critique.
- Establish and maintain the technical standard for a team of supporting instructors, acting as their escalation point for design and architecture-related inquiries.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a senior software/systems architect, platform engineer, or senior backend/infrastructure engineer.
- Proven experience designing and shipping scalable systems in a professional environment.
- Deep understanding across key architectural areas: system design, API and service architecture, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD), and distributed systems.
- Ability to articulate the "why" behind architectural decisions and to diagnose and critique existing architectures.
- Strong technical communication skills, with experience leading live sessions and providing clear, specific written feedback.
- Proficiency in English at a C1+ level, as all instruction and review will be conducted in English for a US-based audience.
- Comfortable integrating and utilizing AI tools in daily technical work.
What We Offer
- Milestone-based payments tied to deliverables.
- Fully remote work arrangement with flexible hours.
- A collaborative digital environment utilizing modern tools such as Notion, Miro, Slack, and Figma.
- Professional trust and autonomy, with a focus on impact rather than micromanagement.
- The opportunity to make a tangible impact by helping graduates secure jobs in the tech industry.
- Membership in a diverse, international, and supportive team.
