The Opportunity
As a Deal Lead, you will be instrumental in sourcing, evaluating, and executing strategic transactions. You will own key aspects of the deal lifecycle from end-to-end, including developing investment theses, building pipeline, managing due diligence, and supporting post-close integration. You will collaborate closely with senior executives and cross-functional leaders to advance HubSpot's inorganic growth strategy and execute initiatives that expand product capabilities and accelerate long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a pipeline of Corporate Development opportunities and drive the execution and integration of mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments, and strategic partnerships.
- Conduct in-depth market research and competitive analysis to identify potential targets, growth opportunities, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate across cross-functional projects and deal teams to conduct due diligence, review transaction documents, and manage financial modeling.
- Partner with senior team members to cultivate relationships with executives and assist in implementing high-priority strategic initiatives.
- Build relationships with industry players, emerging startups, and investors to stay informed about cutting-edge developments and new trends.
- Instill a customer-first culture, ensuring HubSpot customers are at the forefront of all business decisions.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of relevant work experience in investment banking, finance, corporate development, or a similar role, with proven experience in executing M&A transactions.
- Strong understanding of fundamental business models and valuation methodologies (unit economics, multiples-based approaches, DCF) and M&A modeling.
- Solid financial acumen with the ability to analyze complex financial data and formulate strategic recommendations.
- High attention to detail, excellent organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Deep curiosity about technology, software, and the future of SaaS, with a keen interest in the evolving impact of AI.
