About the Role

We are seeking a Tech Linguistic Tester with native-level fluency in Norwegian. In this role, you will primarily proofread and edit content localized into your native language, ensuring accuracy in grammar, syntax, punctuation, capitalization, and consistency. You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting any linguistic or functional issues. Occasional translation from English to Norwegian will be required, as will testing user interfaces (UIs) for functional defects.

Key Responsibilities

• Write and report relevant bugs and errors using internal database systems and client-specific bug tracking tools.
• Perform QA on various products by accurately following testing instructions and test cases.
• Evaluate translations within the context of software, mobile apps, and documentation.
• Act as a subject matter expert for linguistic issues in Norwegian, researching and resolving linguistic questions.
• Adhere to project-specific quality standards, including trademarks, style guides, and client-preferred checklists and glossaries.
• Troubleshoot basic problems and escalate testing issues effectively.
• Undertake and prioritize tasks and issues quickly and efficiently.
• Complete assigned tasks in a timely manner with a high degree of quality.

Requirements

• Native-level or fully bilingual fluency (spoken and written) in Norwegian.
• Strong English language skills (written and verbal).
• Up-to-date awareness of current and common technical language usage in Norwegian.
• Familiarity with native Norwegian culture and trends.
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of professional translation and localization experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to navigate networks and websites using different browsers.
• Basic knowledge of PC hardware (desktop and laptop) and smartphones (iPhone or Android).
• Familiarity with Android and iOS operating systems.
• Avid user of social media, with familiarity with the Facebook Family of Apps.
• Experience with consumer devices and applications related to messaging, health, fitness, calendar, and organization.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
• Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
