Cable Beach Club Resort & Spa, situated on the world-famous Cable Beach in Broome, Western Australia, is seeking a dedicated Handyperson to join our team. Broome offers a relaxed lifestyle with all the conveniences of modern amenities, and our resort boasts 225 rooms, multiple dining options, bars, a tour desk, a resort shop, and a full-service Day Spa.

About the Role

This position involves undertaking a variety of duties, including basic repairs and preventative maintenance across guest rooms, restaurants, offices, and other resort areas. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual who enjoys a diverse range of tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to guest requests for assistance with room maintenance issues.
• Perform tasks such as changing light globes and fixtures.
• Conduct smoke alarm maintenance.
• Undertake basic plumbing repairs, including washer replacements, filter replacements for ice machines and water coolers, and toilet cistern repairs.
• Repair or replace shutters and security screens.
• Assist with the relocation of existing and new furniture and fittings throughout the property.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the workshop, department vehicles, and carts.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with resort departments and guests.
• Basic administrative skills.
• A proactive and team-oriented approach to work.
• Availability to work a rotating fortnightly roster, including weekends and evening shifts.
• A current manual driver's license.
• Previous experience working in a hotel or resort environment will be considered an advantage.
• Must have full Australian work rights.
